Panasonic LUMIX S5
The reason I have chosen to use this particular camera is solely because it's one of the best I have in my possession. I was deciding between this and the BMPCC 4K as it's around the same range in its video recording ability. However, one of the best things I love about the LUMIX S5 is its colour-profiles. This camera features V-LOG which is known to be one of if not the best LOG profile. Using this LOG profile over the Blackmagic Film LOG gives you a huge advantage when Colour Grading as V-LOG is much flatter, meaning you can preserve all that detail in the highlights and shadows.
Spare LUMIX Batteries
The reason I have chosen to take Spare LUMIX Batteries with me is so I can film uninterrupted without having to stop and wait for a single battery to charge over and over again, resulting in less time for Production.
E-IMAGE Tripod
The reason I have chosen to use this particular Tripod is due to its smooth fluid head movement. From this, It makes shots where I pan the camera left and right look more cinematic, as it’s not gonna be a sharp and stuttering flow.
RONIN RS3 Gimbal
The main reason why I have chosen the Ronin RS3 Gimbal is as its perfectly within the weight limit for my LUMIX S5, this is a problem I would’ve had with the BMPCC as its a little too heavy to stabilise well. I also love the included joystick, allowing you to also control it by phone, which works perfectly when sitting on a Rhino Slider.
SD VC II Cards
The reason why I have chosen these exact SD cards is because of the Bitrate requirements my camera has. These SD cards can allow data write speeds up to 250 MB/s which works perfectly with the LUMIX 150 MB/s in 4K, 4-2-2, 10-bit footage. My previous SD cards were only around 100 MB/s and sometimes it would take a long time to write and also experienced stuttering, which would be a nuisance when filming my FMP.
Rhino Slider
The reason why I have chosen to use a Rhino Slider is because of its usefulness, when getting those slow, cinematic shots. It will really help to stablise my shots well, and reduce the camera shake handheld footage gets.
RODE NTG-1 Microphone
The reason why I have chosen the RODE NTG-1 Microphone is that it’s a lightweight condenser shotgun microphone, designed for professional applications in film, video, television, and broadcast. Additionally, its low-weight build of only 105 grams makes it ideal as a boom microphone.

Location Recce

I have decided to change and update my Location Recce with information that stands current on the 10th of April. Here, I have changed the permission status with filming at my Grandad's House. I have been told that I'm allowed to film anytime over the 4 week production dates so this is perfect, and also means I do not need to plan a new Location for the House Scenes.
Moving on, in my First Location Recce I stated that I wanted to be filming just at the College for some scenes to show how Marcus' life was like, when it came to friendships. However, quite recently I was thinking some scenes in the Canteen could be more powerful as you almost always tend to spend Lunch Times with your friends and I feel like being alone in lunch would be a more powerful story than just being alone in your regular College Course.
I am still yet to decide which park in Braintree I will be using, Something I will be doing soon is going around all the available ones and seeing which one would work best for my planned scenes there.
